Family Christmas Photo
I don't know if your family does a Christmas pic each year, but mine tries to. "Tries" means that we usually find a time when we're all in the same town at the same time and take a few shots. This year, my mother decided that we hadn't had a professional shot taken in 5 years and so it was time to do another one. Picture time can be painful because many of the male members of my family HATE having their pic taken. But thanks to our wonderful friend Tillery, we had an almost painless picture taking experience and came out with a pretty good looking photo (if I do say so myself).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (and stay tuned b/c I'll put up some rather entertaining pics of during the photo shoot).

Maximus??? Don’t know ‘bout that

You scored as Maximus. After his family was murdered by the evil emperor Commodus, the great Roman general Maximus went into hiding to avoid Commodus's assassins. He became a gladiator, hoping to dominate the colosseum in order to one day get the chance of killing Commodus. Maximus is valiant, courageous, and dedicated. He wants nothing more than the chance to avenge his family, but his temper often gets the better of him.

Sugar Cream Pie
For those of you who have had it - it's the best addition to your holiday meal that could be asked for. YUUUUUM. Not only that, but it's easy to make! Enjoy!
1/2 C Flour
1 C Sugar
2 C Cream
1/2 t Salt
1 t Vanilla
1 t butter
Cinnamon
1 unbaked pie shell
Sift together sugar, flour, and salt - add 1 C cream, mixing to a very smooth paste. Add remaining cream and vanilla and beat thoroughly. Pour into a pie shell, sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 min. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for 45-50 min longer. Filling should boil in little heat bubbles over entire pie and is done when a golden brown - shakey but not runny.

Five simple steps to designing grid systems - Part 1
The first part of this Five Simple Steps series is taking some of the points discussed in the preface and putting it to practice.
Ratios are at the core of any well designed grid system. Sometimes those ratios are rational, such as 1:2 or 2:3, others are irrational such as the 1:1.414 (the proportion of A4). This first part is about how to combine those ratios to create simple, balanced grids which in turn will help you create harmonious compositions.

Uh…uh…uh…the fall!!!
That was the first thing I said when I landed on the ground and someone asked me what my favorite part of SKYDIVING was. Every time I say this, or watch the video, or remember the jump, I totally grin and get warm inside ALL over again.
Steph gave me my birthday/Christmas present early…and totally surprised me by taking me skydiving this past Saturday. We both ended up buying each other a videographer, and the video link is COMING SOON - so check back tomorrow to watch both.
It was one of the coolest things I've ever done - a totally different cool than scuba diving - and definitely not as scary as I thought it would be. However, I did go tandem - strapped to a guy who's jumped out hundreds of times - and that does take the scariness and responsibility of my life away.
David, Mark and Rita (boyfriend, friend and sister-in-law, respectively) and both Mark and David jumped. Wow. That's the word for it - wow. Well, my word anyway - Steph's was "aaawwwweeesome!!!
Anyway, check out the gallery to the right of this blog for some of the pics - and there will be more to come.

Hello to all - remember the cruise I told you I went on? I finally have pics up in my gallery. Check them out. There is a fraction of the pics we took, but you got the good ones.
There's also pics of David's family at Thanksgiving. Enjoy and comment if you're reading the blog. I know I was a slacker for several months, but I'll do better, I promise!
