I’m BBAAACCCKKK!
Hey there! So I took the last several months off, and there are a couple of things I need to update you on.
1. I'm not engaged. Just making that clear. In case you were going to ask…it saves you breath.
I think there's something in the water of Texas, all my friends are getting rocks put on their fingers. Ok, not all of them…but a lot! David told me the other day that he only does two weddings in one day once a year. Unfortunately for me, there are two days this year that have two weddings apiece - of good friends…yes, you're allowed to feel sorry for David. I promise I've slowed down since starting to date him, but I don't know that the same goes for him!
2. I'm no longer a professional job hunter. I have a job…and yes, I'm back at the capitol. Yeah! I've started working for Rep. Gene Seaman - he's from Corpus Christi and the coast (including North Padre Island and Port Aransas), and all of a sudden everyone wants to make a "district trip" to my district! I don't understand!!!
3. I am in a semi-permenant housing - six month lease doesn't seem to permenant…but it's more stationary than hanging out in a guest bedroom…although, I do miss Kat's cooking!
I do love my new roomies, and they love my dog (and me of course, but the dog is a definite plus!). Kim is in India right now meeting her fiance's family and Malita and I are holding down the duplex.
4. The banquet (Mission Possible! Austin's Stars of Light banquet - I coordinated it) went SO well. Especially considering that I was FLAT on my back two weeks before for about 4 days with a mystery strep-like illness! God is good! We had over 200 people come, raised over $50,000 and it was the first time they had ever done something like this! It's amazing really!
5. My family is growing up! Stephen is an official landman (soon to be oil typhoon), Spencer is in Spain this spring, Leighann is planning on going next year, Steph drives a volvo and is an extremely desired bachlorette (and is quite content to stay that way…well, at least until Prince Charming comes), and my parents are looking better than ever - ck out the family pic below (in Dec post…Family Christmas Picture)!
More will come later - I think this is enough to drown anyone. Make sure that you comment just to say hello and that you're reading - and if you use an RSS feed - you have to update your subscription, or it won't work. If you don't know what I'm talking about - smile and nod.
Have a GREAT WEEK!

Carrabba’s Bread dipping spice
This is a favorite with italian style-grub.The recipe comes from Carrabba's Resturant. They serve the spices on a small plate and the waiter adds Olive oil, now you are set to dip your bread.
1 tablespoon minced basil
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (italian is best)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or ground sea salt
1/2 teaspoon chopped rosemary
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1/8 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Combine all of the ingredients, EXCEPT oil and lemon.
- Put in a small food processor, (I used my little food chopper) Chop briefly until all ingredients are about the same.
- Stir in oil and lemon juice.
- TO SERVE: Combine about 1 1/2 teaspoons spice blend to 3 to 4 Tablespoons Olive oil on a small Dish.
- Dip sliced Bread in Mixture.
- French bread is good.
- ENJOY.

What is Amua?
Amua is a status bar application for Mac OS X that allows you to control Last.fm web-radio streams. It is an alternative to the official Last.fm player.
Wonder which song is playing? Just move over the note icon on top right of your screen without switching away from what you're currently doing. A click on the icon displays the Amua menu where you can control your radio stream and send the usual Love/Skip/Ban commands.
Alternatively you can detach the song information panel and drag it somewhere on your screen, such that you can always see what is playing.
